This Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, come to The Clearstory at the Pajama Factory for the Williamsport Obon Festival!
What’s an Obon Festival? At its heart, Obon is a Buddhist Summer festival where the people of Japan honor their ancestors, but it’s also a great party where people escape the Summer heat with music, food, dance and especially drumming!
Lyco Taiko (a traditional Japanese drumming group) and Williamsport Community Kitchen have gotten together to raise funds for both groups in the best way possible, by throwing a party, so come by and see what it’s all about!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for the closing exhibit of the 2016 AIR program. Today we say good bye and best wishes for a great future to Brigid, Carlijn, Jacky and Matt. It was great hanging out together last night and we are going to miss you.
This Saturday, from 6 PM – 9 PM, there will be an exhibition of the work by the 2016 Pajama Factory Artists in Residence that you won’t want to miss!
Every year, we have artists from all over the world come and stay in Williamsport, create work at the Pajama Factory and become a part of our wonderful creative community. This year, we’ve been honored to get to know Brigid, Carlijn, Jacky and Matt. They’ve been such a great group of very talented artists and we’re proud to call them friends.
Come see what they’ve all been up to—you’ll be glad you did!
Carlijn is a Dutch artist, one of our 2016 Pajama Factory Artists in Residence.
This morning, Dutch Culture USA did a wonderful piece on her and her experiences here. Go take a look!
“I’m a heavy dreamer, I do what moves me – guided by that tingly gut feeling or sense of wonder.” Dutch artist Carlijn Claire Potma is currently an artist-in residence at Pajama Factory in Williamsport, PA, and will be part of the Pajama Factory Artist-In-Residence Exhibition on July 16. Carlijn Claire works within a wide constellation of disciplines, ranging from alternative drawing practices to photography and beyond. The reception will take place between 6 and 9 PM.
ACES North America is one of our newest tenants and later this month, they’re throwing a benefit “Night of Dominican Dining and Entertainment” at the Genetti Hotel!
It will be on July 27th and you’ll get to meet the Crosscutters, as well as the Dominican team—along with live music, great food, and a silent auction.
ACES is an organization whose mission is raising money for sustainable development projects in the Dominican Republic.
